New Family Tradition

We began a new family tradition this year. Well, at least I hope we did. Only time will tell.

We made and decorated a birthday cake for Jesus! After all CHRIST-mas is about the birth of Jesus Christ. It seems like Christmas has lost its true meaning. Hopefully this will be a fun way for our family to remember what it's all about.

I'm pretty sure Noah (and Jeremy) ate more candy than he actually put on the cake.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

  1. Seems like a great ideal, but Jesus was born in march. The Catholic church in the 1500 wanted to get rid of Pagans in Europe so they tried to cover a major Pagan holiday, the winter solstice with Jesus's birth. Still I love the cake, and you are right the meaning of "Christmas" has been lost through the years.

  4. Thank you all! We had a lot of fun. I know that Jesus was likely not born on December 25 but in our culture that is when we celebrate it. So if we are going to celebrate "Christmas," why not include Christ? I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
